Lunch Run On Snow Packed Roads

It has been a week since my last run. I have been fighting a horrible cold and still am but I thought I could manage a run at lunch today. My goal was to go as long as it still felt good. I was pretty proud of myself and I was able to do 4.5 miles in a little under 50 minutes which was a slow pace but that is what I needed. Also I was running mostly on snowpacked roads. Even though the roads were snowy it was beautiful. 30 degrees, sun shinning and beautiful blue sky. It was great.

Mel over at Tall Mom on the Run started a year long challenge in January that I was too afraid to go for. The goal is to run 1000 miles during 2010. To break that down that means I have to run 2.74 miles per day. Right now for January I am about 1.1 miles per day off of this average but if I hit an average of 2.74 miles by the end of January I am going to go for it.

Hey, if you do the Olathe Marathon, you will have 26 miles in one day!

Getting sick and running really don't go hand in hand. You had a great comeback run though. Good for you!

Hope you are feeling better soon! My youngest will be 2 yrs in March, like you, I can't imagine my life without either of my kids! I really feel so lucky to be a mother! Great that you were still able to run while not feeling your best!

Thanks for the link to the great blog. I might join you on your quest. I logged 76 miles in January, so I think I might be able to do it.
